Last Comic in the Pile, July 19th

Justice League #0

Last week was famine, so this week is feast! Whee. So, from possible worst to possible best:

  • Flash #2: Considering the poor first issue, it’s no surprise that this is ending up as worst in my initial rankings.
  • 52: Week Eleven: Two more issues for this series to make me want to buy it.
  • Uncle Sam And The Freedom Fighters #1: Getting this more for morbid curiousity than any thought it might be good.
  • Shadowpact #3: Likely to be okay, but not spectacular.
  • Checkmate #4This comic is like the anti-Nextwave: it takes a couple of readings to get anything out of it. I think I might actually have to reread 1-3.
  • Manhunter #24: I picked up the "One Year Later" issues of this, and it’s cool: I like comics with good supporting casts, and this one doesn’t skimp on that. It still hasn’t really knocked by socks off, though.
  • Robin #152: New arc. Let’s see if it can keep the OYL momentum.
  • Supergirl And The Legion Of Super Heroes #20: Each month, this earns its keep and then some.
  • X-Factor #9: Hope this doesn’t have anything to do with Civil War.
  • Justice League Of America #0: Considering the hype, this needs to be really really good. But its Meltzer. I probably shouldn’t make this the best of the week, but I’m hoping against hope.

There we have it: can the newcomer knock off some established winners? Tune in on Wednesday and find out.
