Last Comic in the Pile, August 23rd

Just a quick glance and wow, this is going to be a good week. As usual, here are my sight-unseen ratings of the comics I’ll be buying this week from what I think will be the worst to the best. Then, late Wednesday or Thursday, find out what comic becomes the true Last Comic in the Pile.

Batman and the Mad Monk #1

9. Supergirl #9
I’m not sure why I’m still buying this. I’m hoping that perhaps it will improve, since the "One Year Later" arc was very reader unfriendly (and wasted Power Girl). Plus, I’m not sure if this issue is part of that arc or not.
8. Flash #3
Last issue was better, but I think this is likely my last.
7. 52: Week Sixteen
Sweet Sixteen and never been kissed! Anyhow, possibly the last issue I’ll be getting. But I’ve said that before.
6. Batman #656
I’m trying not to judge based on one issue, but this needs to improve a lot to save itself.
5. Justice League Of America #1
The #0 issue was pretty good, so I’m giving the benefit of the doubt.
4. Legion Of Super Heroes #21
Always a reliable comic: good action, nice plotting, fun writing.
3. Wonder Woman #2
Finally! I enjoyed the first issue, so hoping this one continues that trend.
2. Birds Of Prey #97
Hard to go wrong with Gail Simone comics.
1. Batman And The Mad Monk #1
This is the Batman comic people should be buying. Wagner’s last mini-series had everything a Batman fan could want, so he’s got a hard act to follow.
